Hyatt Lake Recreation Area and Campground









Brief description:  Beautiful forested camping area at Hyatt Lake

Open Dates:  Mid May ~ October 31 (Unusual winter weather may impact dates)

Number of Campsites:  47 pull in sites, 7 walk in sites (walk in sites are first come/first served).  Max RV 30ft.  Tents welcome.  Group site also available.  Reserve sites via Recreation.gov  search for Hyatt Lake Recreation Area.

Length of Stay:  14 days
·        Fees:  $12.00 per site per night Monday-Thursday
·        $15.00 per site per night Friday-Sunday
·        $10.00 per equestrian campsite
·        $3.00 extra vehicle (maximum 2 un-towed vehicles per site)
·        $5.00 for use of dumpsite (if not camping onsite)

Affiliation:  BLM (Bureau of Land Management) Reservations via:  Recreation.gov


Location/Address:  Approximately 20+ miles from Ashland Oregon.  From Interstate 5 in Ashland, take exit # 14.  Take Highway 66 towards Klamath Falls.  Follow for 17 miles until you reach East Hyatt Lake Road.  (Well marked).  Travel approximately 3 more miles until you reach the campground.  Note:  the road from Ashland is two lanes, but can be narrow, has curves, and may be steep in some sections.  Most sections of the road does not have side barriers, there are steep drop offs.  Roads to the Lake are paved.

Elevation:  4648 ft.

General Description:  Pine trees, lake, mountain atmosphere.  Hyatt Lake is located inside the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument.  Great spot during warm summer days, as it will be cooler than the valley areas below.  Fishing on the lake, kayaking, canoeing, etc.  The lake is a “no wake” lake.
  

Nearby Services:  (groceries, medical, etc.)  There is restaurant and hotel accommodation approximately 3 miles from Hyatt Lake at the corner of Route 66 and East Hyatt Lake Road.  All other services are available in Ashland, Oregon, approximately 20 miles.
